Awards, Best-Book List and Chair Appointment: Updates from Documentary Film & Global Health Postdoc

Mark Terry, the Dahdaleh Institute Postdoctoral Fellow in Documentary Film & Global Health, has been recognized for his work at York University and beyond.
His book, The Geo-Doc: Geomedia, Documentary Film, and Social Change, has recently made the list of Best Documentary Film Books of All-Time by Book Authority, the world's leading site for nonfiction book recommendations. In April 2020, Book Authority ranked the book #2 on their list of Best Documentary Film Books of 2020.
Dean Alice Hovorka of the Faculty of Environmental Studies presented Dr. Terry with the Dean's Teaching Award 2019/2020. Watch Dr. Hovorka's presentation of the award here:
Dr. Ali Asgary, Associate Director of Advanced Disaster, Emergency, and Rapid Response Simulation (ADERSIM) has named Dr. Terry the Chair of the ADERSIM Arctic Group.
Dr. Terry's project, the Youth Climate Report, is nominated for the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals Action Awards, under the category of "Mobilizer." His letter of nomination was submitted by Dr. Charles Hopkins, the UNESCO Chair in Reorienting Education Towards Sustainability.
Dr. Terry’s ongoing work on [the Youth Climate Report] at the COP conferences has had a significant impact on achieving the SDG goals... I believe it represents a unique pedagogy in teaching and learning the SDGs for large numbers of people.
